LINLEY JONES

Trial work, more than any other area of law, benefits clients in their greatest time of need,” says Ms. Jones. “I am a trial lawyer because I enjoy being able to help people though difficult, life-changing situations – to help them see the light at the end of the tunnel. It’s easy to be passionate about your work and the law when you know that the end result you’re working for will have a huge impact on the rest of your client’s life.

Linley Jones is one of Atlanta’s most distinguished trial lawyers. She is the first lawyer in the United States to be board certified in legal malpractice by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys (an ABA-approved certification board). She has an AV rating, the highest professional rating available from the Martindale-Hubbell Lawyers Directory. With over 20 years of experience, she practices primarily in the areas of legal malpractice, personal injury and wrongful death.

Raised on St. Simons Island, Georgia, Ms. Jones moved to Washington, D.C. during high school to work as a Senate page for the United States Senate Judiciary Committee and then started college at age 16 as a Kemper Scholar at Emory University where she received her B.A. in political science. Ms. Jones then obtained her law degree as a Callaway Scholar at Georgia State University in 1992, and served as political editor of the Georgia State Law Review. Ms. Jones appeared on CNN over 100 times as a Senior Legal Analyst (in addition to practicing law), and has also appeared on many other local and national programs. After hours, Ms. Jones serves as a City Councilmember in the City of Brookhaven, Georgia.

In addition to serving as the immediate past President of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, Ms. Jones is an active member of the American Association for Justice, the Lawyers Club of Atlanta and the Atlanta Trial Lawyers Society. She currently sits on the Board of Directors of the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys and has served on the Board of Directors of the Civil Justice PAC. She remains a champion member of both the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and the Civil Justice PAC.

Ms. Jones has repeatedly been named Super Lawyer by Atlanta Magazine and one of the Top 50 Female Lawyers in Georgia, most recently in 2016. In 2007, she was selected by the Fulton County Daily Report as one of 15 Georgia lawyers “On the Rise”. Since 2009, she has been named one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Georgia by the American Trial Lawyers Association. She has also received the highest rating from LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell, an AV-Preeminent Peer Review Rating, and has a 5 out of 5-star rating on Avvo.com. Ms. Jones has achieved multiple seven-figure verdicts and settlements on behalf of deserving clients.
